DAT Tutoring
One-on-one DAT tutoring for the natural sciences, perceptual ability, reading comprehension, and quantitative reasoning, with a plan built from your diagnostic.
The DAT is four tests in one: Survey of the Natural Sciences, the Perceptual Ability Test (PAT), Reading Comprehension, and Quantitative Reasoning. Each asks for a different skill, so one big review wastes hours. STEM Tutor 360 offers one-on-one DAT tutoring that starts with a diagnostic and then builds a study calendar giving each section the time it needs. Sessions run online on a shared whiteboard, in blocks of 1 to 2 hours, and follow your own books and practice results.
Our strongest fit is the chemistry and the math. Survey of the Natural Sciences covers biology, general chemistry, and organic chemistry, and we are strongest on the two chemistry parts. For biology we help with planning and practice questions, and you do most of the memorizing with your own review materials. The PAT is a skill built by repetition, so we teach a method for each question type and you practice often. STEM Tutor 360 does not give dental school admissions advice.
What We Cover
How we build your plan
- A short timed sample of each section shows where the first hours should go.
- The calendar runs from your test date back to today, with PAT practice spread across many short sessions instead of a few long ones.
- Chemistry comes first where it is a gap: calculation drills and mechanism practice, then timed question sets.
- Quantitative Reasoning gets a short list of reliable methods for algebra and word problems, plus estimation habits.
- Reading Comprehension gets a repeatable approach to a passage that answers from the text.
- Practice tests come at intervals and are reviewed section by section, so every miss becomes a study item.
PAT strategies we practice
- Keyhole: find the object's cross-section along its direction of travel and match it to the opening.
- Top-front-end: sketch what each view must look like, and use features that appear in two views to keep your picture consistent.
- Angle ranking: compare each angle with benchmarks such as 45 and 90 degrees before ranking them.
- Hole punching: unfold step by step in reverse, mirroring each punch across each fold line.
- Cube counting: count layer by layer and track which faces touch other cubes.
- Pattern folding: find which faces will be opposite and which edges will meet, then eliminate options that break those rules.
About the exam
The DAT, from the American Dental Association, is computer-based at Prometric test centers. It has four sections: Survey of the Natural Sciences (biology, general chemistry, and organic chemistry), the Perceptual Ability Test (PAT), Reading Comprehension, and Quantitative Reasoning.
Scores are reported on a 1 to 30 scale. Check the current DAT Guide for timing and question counts. STEM Tutor 360 is an independent tutor and is not affiliated with the American Dental Association.
Who this is for
Pre-dental students preparing for the DAT, including those finishing science coursework this term and those studying alongside a job. Students who find the chemistry sections or the PAT hardest are a good fit, since that is where a clear method and steady practice help most. Retakers can bring their earlier results to build a plan from. Sessions are online nationwide, with in-person options around Richmond, Sugar Land, and Katy, TX.
