MCAT Tutoring
One-on-one MCAT tutoring built on science content, passage-based reasoning, and a study calendar that works backward from your test date.
The MCAT tests science knowledge and reasoning at the same time, so a gap in either one costs points. STEM Tutor 360 offers one-on-one MCAT tutoring that works on both. We start with a diagnostic and build a study calendar backward from your test date, then adjust it as your results come in. Content review is paired with practice on passage-based questions. Sessions run online on a shared whiteboard, in blocks of 1 to 2 hours, and follow your own books, notes, and practice results.
Our strongest fit is the science and quantitative reasoning: general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and physics. That is what we teach well. For the psychology and sociology content, we can help you plan, practice, and review your reasoning, but most of the memorization happens in your own study time. We say so plainly in the free consultation if a topic is outside what we teach.
What We Cover
How we build your plan
- A diagnostic across all four sections shows where points are lost and why.
- A week-by-week calendar runs from your test date back to today, sized to the hours you really have.
- Content review goes in order of need: weakest science topics first, each followed by practice questions on the same topic.
- Passage practice comes in short timed sets that train reading a passage, finding its claim, and ruling out answers.
- CARS passages run on a regular schedule, with each miss sorted by cause, such as misreading the question or picking an answer the text does not support.
- Full-length practice tests come at intervals, are reviewed section by section, and are used to adjust the calendar.
Common study mistakes
- Treating a practice test as a score instead of a diagnostic. The review is where the learning happens.
- Memorizing reactions without learning the mechanisms, which fails on unfamiliar questions.
- Reading passages like a textbook and running out of time.
- Leaving CARS until the last month.
- Reviewing content for months before touching a passage-based question.
About the exam
The MCAT, from the AAMC, has four scored sections: Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems; Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills (CARS); Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems; and Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior.
Each section is scored 118 to 132, and the total is 472 to 528. Testing time is about 6 hours 15 minutes, or about 7.5 hours with breaks. Check the current AAMC materials for question counts, section timing, and registration details. STEM Tutor 360 is an independent tutor and is not affiliated with the AAMC.
Who this is for
Pre-health students preparing for the MCAT, including those balancing coursework or a job. Students who find chemistry, physics, or biochemistry hardest will get the most from sessions, since that is where we are strongest. Retakers can bring their earlier section scores and practice results to build a plan from. We do not give medical school admissions advice. Sessions are online nationwide, with in-person options around Richmond, Sugar Land, and Katy, TX.
